From Ms. Goodall and Ms. Edlund:
This week, the Passamaquody Blueberry Company came to Lyseth to teach Pk-1st graders about the Passamaquody Blueberry Harvest. Students enjoyed learning about traditional harvesting practices and painting pictures of blueberries!
The presenter, Holly Francis sent us this feedback:
I am in awe of your students - I grew up just outside of Atlanta in a pretty diverse community and never in my schooling did I have 50+% of my classmates speak 2+ languages. These kids are so bright and I just can't say enough good things about them. All of the kids were so attentive, engaged and interested; it was so sweet to see their creations!
Additionally, the fact that these students could (1) name all of the Wabanaki Tribes and (2) tell me what Wabanaki translates to BLOWS MY MIND! I am so proud of them and of your teachers for clearly weaving the importance of Wabanaki history into the curriculum.”

Children's Author Samara Cole Doyon Visits Lyseth!
To continue or celebration of Black History Month. We were thrilled to be able to bring in Samara Cole Doyon to read to classes and share information and answer questions about being an author. We have purchased copies of her book for our school but if you want to learn more, or support Samara and buy one of her books for your household, you can find more information about her here! https://samaracoledoyon.com/.
And we also want to thank the PTA for funding this visit - if you want to donate to the Leopards Den to continue to fund activities and guests like this, we deeply appreciate your support! (Donate here: https://donorbox.org/lysethpta-leopard-s-den)
