We offer a full K-5 elementary program to our 535 students. Our dedicated staff of 75 professionals create a nurturing, yet academically rigorous school experience for our students. We hope you find the information on this Web site to be useful and informative. Our Mission Statement - "To Provide a Nurturing Environment Where All Learners Will Excel." Our students will make continuous progress with learning across the curriculum with a specific focus in the areas of reading, writing and mathematics. Our students will attend a school which is committed to a consistent understanding and implementation of child-centered programming. Our students will benefit from staff communications that promotes teamwork and common understanding, and this communication will transfer to strong connections with parents and the community.

The school office is open from 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. daily. School is in session from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students should not arrive on the school grounds before 8:30 a.m. There is no supervision prior to that time. Between November 1 and April 15, or during inclement weather, children may enter the building at 8:30 a.m. Students are dismissed at 3:00 p.m. from their designated exit doors. Students should not reenter the building.

We Offer...
Vertical Team is a collaborative teaching team consisting of three teachers. This team works together to provide consistent educational programming over a three-year period. Our present K-2 arrangement allows for flexible groupings, multi-grade projects and cross-curricular designing. Literacy Lab aims to accelerate literacy growth for identified first graders. K-Boost Program provides identified kindergarten students the opportunity to work in a small group setting during an extended literacy time. CNS Program (Center of Neurodevelopmental Services) is a district-wide program located at Lyseth School. It services the students from K-5 who have significant needs, including Asperger's Syndrome. Library/Media Center - The Lyseth Library Media Center offers a dynamic learning environment in which reading and research are promoted. The library boasts a collection of more than 12,000 books, magazines, audio books and videos.

Lyseth PTA
The Lyseth PTA holds many events during the year. Their gift-wrap fundraiser helps sponsor the Enrichment Program that promotes cultural awareness through the visual and performing arts. Some other activities throughout the year include a Welcome Back Picnic, the Lyseth Talent Show and the School Fair.
